Requirements to obtain an ESAO Star
Which are the requirements to obtain an ESAO Star?
An EVOO is awarded the ESAO Star if it meets one of these two requirements:

Ranking among the top 3 places or the top 5 finalists in the Best International EVOO category of the ESAO Awards in two consecutive campaigns.

Ranking among the top 3 places or the top 5 finalists, in the same campaign, in 2 or 3 of these reference competitions:

The ESAO Awards of the Olive Oil School of Spain (Best International EVOO category).

The Mario Solinas Quality Awards of the International Olive Council.

The Alimentos de España Awards (Spanish Food Award) of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The ESAO Star is valid for five years. After that period, the EVOO must meet one of the requirements again to obtain it once more.
